Rashtrasant Janardhan Swami College of Pharmacy, Ahmednagar, is a very new college under the pharmaceutical education stream since 2019. Located in Kokamthan, Kopargaon, it is an affiliated college under the approval of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Located on a compact 2-acre campus, the college presently enrols 59 students and employs 5 members of faculty. The institute conducts two specialized pharmacy programmes that speak for its concentration in pharmaceutical education. Despite its short tenure, the college is actively striving to develop a name for itself in pharmacy education within Maharashtra.
Rashtrasant Janardhan Swami College of Pharmacy has many facilities that help in enriching the learning experience of the students. A fully-equipped library acts as a source of knowledge and provides students with resources necessary for pharmaceutical study. The campus has well-designed modern laboratories, which are important for practical training in pharmacy education. The college also offers sports facilities and a gym for overall development. There is an auditorium for events and seminars to encourage academic debate. The college also stresses the importance of student's welfare and has a health center providing first aid service. Interestingly, the college affords hostel facilities for both boys and girls to live in, thus providing amicable living conditions for all the students coming from remote locations. A cafeteria also provides a place for catering the needs of students and faculties at the campus.
The current two courses it has provided are in the department of pharmacy. The B.Pharma programme is a four-year undergraduate course with an intake of 100 seats. The college also offers a D.Pharma programme, which is a two-year course with 60 seats. These programmes are offered to provide pharmaceutical education at different levels, thus offering opportunities for students with different career objectives in the pharmacy sector. The total number of students from both programmes amounts to 160, reflecting the capacity building of the college for the future pharmacists.
