Rayat Bahra Faculty of Engineering (BFE), Patiala Campus, which commenced in 2009, is hereby affiliated with the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda. It is a co-educational university established in Patiala, Punjab, which provide a number of degrees in engineering at UG & PG levels. It occupies 12 acres and has an overall enrolment of 131 students, the faculty consists of 70 members. The college offers a total of 6 programmes in two fields of engineering, these are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Rayat Bahra Faculty of Engineering boasts of having all the essentials that will make learning easier for the students as well as a wide variety of services offered by the institute. This is also a true for hostels where boys’ hostels and girls’ hostels are fully provided with amenities such as activity centres, common room and dining hall. In the field of health and fitness, BFE Patiala provides the following services: first-aid centre  which works 24/07 and has emergency services, gendered separated gym equipped with mil modern types of exercise equipment. The college also has sports complex ground for tennis, basketball, badminton, and volleyball courts and option of indoor games. Backed up by well-endowed laboratories, asset with engineering books more than 7200 and latest journals and magazines, strong IT support with internet facility. Other facilities like cafeteria, a hall for meetings and gathering, an on-campus ATM and banking facilities add to the convenience of student life.

In total, BFE Patiala has recognised to have 6 courses wherein 4 are full time B.Tech programmes and 2 are full time M.Tech programmes. The B.Tech courses include Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering all of which take four years. CSE and ME are 2-years M.Tech courses offered in the institute that is M.Tech Computer Science & Engineering and M.Tech Mechanical Engineering. The new admission intake as approved for all courses is 186 students with B.Tech 150 and M.Tech 36.

The admission criteria in Rayat Bahra Faculty of Engineering, Patiala depend more on the performance of the previous class. The minimum academic requirement for by B.Tech programmes is 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects, and any one of the subjects-Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics or Biology. Several courses are offered in different engineering disciplines at the institute, intending students are encouraged to consult the individual requirements for courses of interest before applying. The colleges in Punjab offering engineering courses accept scores obtained from JEE Main or related state entrance tests. M.Tech admissions, the candidate must have at least a B.Tech degree and have to write GATE or a university level entrance test. It also has a place to host learners and other utilities that are well endowed for learning and other school needs.
