RK Sanatombi Devi College of Education was founded in 2003 as a leading college in Imphal, Manipur. This is a co-educational college affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education offering only teacher education programmes. The college occupies a area of 1.148 acres; total number of enrollment includes 468 students and 42 faculty members. The institution offers two full-time courses, B.Ed and M.Ed, programmes at the postgraduate level for 250 students. It is also recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an aim to deliver quality education in teaching profession.

RK Sanatombi Devi College of Education provides students with the following amenities that are available to support learning: The library has a collection of 8839 books of which 815 are reference books and has the seating capacity of 70 students in its reading section. For sports as well as recreation, the college has adequate amenities for physical fitness such as an indoor sports hall with provisions for table tennis, badminton, carrom and chess. The IT facilities are well developed with thirty computers and ten laptops connected to the internet so that students are familiar with the advancement in technology. Other facilities include a canteen, two theatres with 450 and 1400 sitting capacities respectively as well as a girls hostel under construction with a capacity to house 70 students.

RK Sanatombi Devi College of Education offers two primary courses, undergraduate with teaching certification and postgraduate taught qualification respectively- are two main types of qualification for teachers in most countries. The mentioned programmes are full-scale educational courses with a study span of two years each. The B.Ed programme has an approved intake capacity of 200 students while the M.Ed programme have a seating capacity of 50 students. These courses are aimed at creating professionals who will be able to find a job within the education sector, become efficient educators and leaders within the industry.

RK Sanatombi Devi College of Education has the following criteria of admission: the results of the previous examination, passing the examination organised at this college. In respect of B.ED admission, the entrance test includes General English 40 marks, General Knowledge 35 marks and Teaching Aptitude 25 marks. The M.Ed entrance test format is the same as the above with slight differences in the marking scheme. These entrance tests are conducted by the college; only the dates are given as the college may announce in the near future.
