RN Modi Engineering College, Kota: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

R N Modi Engineering College (RME ) was established in 2004 as an engineering college in Kota (Rajasthan). Located on an 11 acre campus, RMEC has a variety of engineering courses for students who seekto pursue the course. This college, being an affiliated college, has total intakes of 415 students and has 119 committed faculty members. RMEC offers seven programmes in two degree levels in different engineering fields like Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering & Electrical Engineering.

This college boasts of amenities that can improve the learning among the students. On the core of the academic tools offered by RMEC is a brand-new, computer free library of 700 sqm. This knowledge hub aims at arranging over 15000 books, 1443 DVDs & CDs, 9000+ e-journals through DELNET services. With specialised multimedia facilities and functioning under the ERP system, the library provides students with an abundant amount of information. Additional recreational facilities in RMEC includes playgrounds, basketball and volleyball and other sports hall, table tennis, and badminton courts for those who have the interest in physical activities. It also has over forty science and engineering laboratories for students of the college such as Fluid Mechanics Lab, Structural Engineering Lab, Environmental Engineering Lab Students are given practical experiences in their professional carrier through these labs.

RMEC presents reasonable Engineering programmes to provide for every student’s area of interest. This college offers six full-time undergraduate B.Tech programmes and one full time postgraduate M.Tech programme. Among the B.Tech programmes are Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology, Mechanical engineering, Civil engineering and Electrical engineering that take four years to complete. Computer Engineering is a two-year M.Tech programme. Overall capacity sanctioned for all the B.Tech courses combined is 210 however the specialised B.Tech in Civil Engineering has a greater intake of 60 seats where other all B.Tech courses has 30 seats each. Admission to the M.Tech programme in Computer Engineering is 18 seats in total.

The process of admitting students to RMEC is in accordance to the rules and regulation of Rajasthan Technical University and Board of Technical Education, Rajasthan. For the undergraduate programmes the admission process is on the basis of merit of their REAP or JEE Main scores. The JEE Main is a nationwide entrance test that forms part of their admission process. For postgraduate admissions, it conducts a Common Admission Test for Master of Technology (CAM) and admission through counseling as per the ranks obtained by the students placed through this examination. RMEC continues to grow popular as an engineering institution, where intending students seek to take up promising engineering careers.
