Royal College of Education and Research for Women (RCERW) Throne was established in 2012 for women’s education in Mira Road East, Thane, Maharashtra. This affiliated college approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) provides specialised training of teachers. The college is on a small campus of approximately 0 acres and only has 85 students, all the students are female. Royal College of Education and Research for Women, Thane Admission

The Royal College of Education and Research for Women (RCERW), is the only women-specific college offering courses in teacher education. The Mira Road East, Thane, Maharashtra-established RCERW is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and was approved by NCTE with B.Ed being its current undergraduate course.  Admission for RCERW is usually at par with the common entrance test (CET) of Maharashtra state. Applicants should take CET, which is a state level common entrance test, to join the B.Ed program. Joining the college strictly depends on CET, which is the prime admission criteria of the college.

The eligibility criteria of the B.Ed program of RCERW include:

  1. The students must be women because the college is only for women.
  2. The candidate should have their graduation from the recognized university.
  3. Qualify in Maharashtra CET for the admission of B.Ed.

Generally, the subjects included in Maharashtra CET for B.Ed are General knowledge, Teaching Aptitude and Knowledge of concerned subjects. Thus, the applicant should prepare them for this entrance examination to obtain a seat at RCERW.

Admission Process 

Application process for getting admission into B.Ed program at Royal College of Education and Research for Women, Thane is as follows:

1. Registration for CET: Candidates are required to register online for CET conducted by Maharashtra State for B.Ed through official state CET website.

2. CET Examination: Appear in the CET on the scheduled date as declared by state authorities.

3. CET Result: Wait for CET results to declare. Eligible candidates will then be allowed in the further process of admission

4. Counseling and College selection: The counseling process is provided by the State through centralized Admission Process (CAP). In CAP, candidates will be able to choose RCERW as a preferred institution for them.

5. Document verification: If assigned a seat to RCERW, candidates should report to college for document verification. Required documents usually include-

  • CET score card
  • Graduation mark sheets and degree certificate
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
  • Valid ID proof
  • Domicile certificate (if required)

6. Confirmation of Admission: Once the document verification is complete and all other eligibility criteria are met, a candidate can confirm his/her admission by paying the requisite fee.

7. Orientation: Attend the college orientation program to get familiar with the campus, faculty, and course structure.

The admission process is competitive as there are only 50 seats available for the B.Ed program. Candidates are advised to perform well in the CET and complete all admission formalities in time to get a seat at Royal College of Education and Research for Women, Thane.
