Royal College of Education and Research for Women (RCERW) Throne was established in 2012 for women’s education in Mira Road East, Thane, Maharashtra. This affiliated college approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) provides specialised training of teachers. The college is on a small campus of approximately 0.47 acres and only has 85 students, all the students are female. A senior team of faculty with the strength of 7 members permits the institute to provide the right amount of concentration required for a child to flourish and provide quality education to each student. 

RCERW provides a myriad of infrastructures that are meant to complement the college learning of students. A spacious library contains above 5000 reference books and encyclopaedia collections, text books, periodicals etc for the resourceful academic students. The institution also uses an audiovisual room and auditorium equipped with LCD projectors, the latest technological sound system for general knowledge, group discussions and workshops and other learning interventions. In practical training, the college provides stock laboratories outfitted with training aids, instruments, and equipment requisite for teacher trainees. Concerning the physical wellbeing, their sporting amenities involve indoor and outdoor facility, the latter containing facilities for carom and table tennis as well as badminton and basketball. Also, the college has a facility to accommodate a gym, a canteen and a bookstore for different requirements of the learners. 

Royal College of Education and Research for Women, Thane, offers one primary course, the Bachelors of Education or the B.Ed programme. This full-time course that takes two years to complete has an approved annual student intake of 50 students. B.Ed programme is aimed at providing the necessary knowledge and skills that will allow prospective teachers serve efficiently in the teaching profession. Although this college has only this single degree programme, it shows a concern on offering quality teacher education to women.
