RR Bawa DAV College for Girls is a premier women's college situated at Batala road Gurdaspur district of Punjab was form in 1965. This affiliated college situated in a 7.76 acres area sharpens the young talents for more than 5 decades now. The college currently has 1,283 students and 48 members in the faculty and delivers 27 subjects across 11 degrees. The institute acts as a place for education for only female students offering a solid quality education and environment for all its learners.

RR Bawa DAV College, of course, has a rich set of facilities created to improve the overall learning process. With the library at the centre of the campus, it was started in the year 1965 as an information centre that consist of acquisition section, technical section, circulation section, and digital library. This is in the College gymnasium and sports facility which has been putting through athletes of international, national and state standards. The IT facilities are also excellent consisting of air conditioned computerised labs and wise lecture theatres to fit the students into the modern world.

Very noteworthy is its hostel facility, which is an independent two storied building with fifty well equipped separate hall like rooms, catering to the students requirement of homely accommodation. The institute currently offers 27 courses out of which some are undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Among the undergraduate programmes are few famous ones such as BCA, B.Sc in IT, Medical, Non-Medical, Computer Science, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Economics, Fashion Designing, B.Com, BA etc. In post graduate level the college offers M.Sc Computer science, M.Sc Information Technology, M.Sc Mathematics, Fashion Designing & Merchandising, M.Com, M.A Hindi, M.A Punjabi & M.A Economics. Still, the college offers various diploma and postgraduate diploma courses these include; PGDCA, PGD in Cosmetology and Health Care, diploma in Computer Applications, Stitching & Tailoring, Cosmetology.

The college does not give specific dates for examinations except that it registers admission in compliance with the affiliating university academic calendar.
