RS More College, Dhanbad, came into existence in 1959 and is one of the premier constituent colleges at Govindpur, Jharkhand. Nestled in a sprawling 100 acre landscape, approved by NAAC and functioning since 1952, this institution for higher learning has created more leaders, thinkers and visionaries. RS More College occupies vast space of 17 acres and in Classroom had 4,842 students for its under graduate programmes. The college has a faculty of total 16 faculty members all of which dedicated educators and care takers. This institution comprises 20 courses offered in and across 7 degree programmes, arts, commerce and science streams are offered.

The central library of the institute has 2000 books and 1000 journals, In addition, there is a reading room with Internet connection. It has well equipped gym that measures approximately one thousand six hundred square feet and has a gym instructor cum cleaner. RS More College has a total of 20 courses which are all full time. Towards this end, the institution serves different interests academically by providing a variety of programmes in Arts, Science and Commerce stream which includes BA Hons. programmes, B.Com, and B.Sc programmes. There is no fixated total student enrolments for specific classes, general average enrolment is 4842. There are 1,877 student enrolled in undergraduate programme, of which 54% are males and 46% female students. The college has produced enough competent college graduates to help fill the employment market gap of professional skill in many sectors.

Admission of students into this college is fully based on merit from the preparation of the students themselves and there is no quesiton of quota system, monopoly or selective admission as in the case of RS More College. The entrance tests are not mentioned though the college could require students to produce their performance scores in the 10+2 level. The institution has a clear, open recruitment criteria so that each candidate for the post meets the requirement. To this end, RS More College pledged to finance its students with 1,305 reimbursements of scholarships collected from the academic year 2023.
