Rudrapur Institute of Technology (RIT), is one of the preferred technical institutes of higher learning in Rudrapur in the state of Uttarakhand. Programs in engineering diplomas are offered on a merit basis. RIT admission is largely based on the Uttarakhand Joint Entrance Examination Polytechnics (Uttarakhand JEEP) conducted by the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education (UBTER). This entrance examination acts as a stepping stone for any interested student who wishes to pursue his/her diploma here at RIT. The application forms for Uttarakhand JEEP are usually released in January and are accepted until April. Accordingly, for this academic session, the application dates are from January 6, 2025, to April 30, 2025. The examination is held in as much online mode as possible for candidates throughout the state.

Application Process

Application process for admission to Rudrapur Institute of Technology involves following the below-mentioned steps:

1. Register for Uttarakhand Joint Entrance Examination Polytechnics (Uttarakhand JEEP):

• Log on to the official website of UBTER.
• Fill in the application form for Uttarakhand JEEP online.
• Pay the application fee.
• Submit the filled application before the stipulated time (April 30, 2025, for the ensuing year).

2. Show up for Uttarakhand JEEP:

•  It is an online examination.
• Preparation for the examination should encompass mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

3. Checking Results:

• The UTUTTARAKHAND JEEP results will be declared by UBTER.
• Candidates can check the scores and ranks using the official website.

4. Participate in JEEP Counseling:

• UBTER will call for counseling by the qualified candidates.
• Candidates will have to select their preferred institutions and courses in counseling.

5. Seat Allotment:

• Seats will be allotted based on preferences of candidates and their ranks.
• If a seat is allotted at Rudrapur Institute of Technology, it will proceed to the next step.

6. Admission Formalities at RIT:

• Report to Rudrapur Institute of Technology within the given session.

Degree Wise Admission Process

Diploma Programs: Rudrapur Institute of Technology offers five diploma programs in engineering, with a student intake of 60 for each. The admission procedure for all diploma programs is the same, based on Uttarakhand JEEP counselling conducted by UBTER. The following programs are available:

1. Diploma in Mechanical Automobile Engineering
2. Diploma in Mechanical Production Engineering
3. Diploma in Civil Engineering
4. Diploma in Electrical Engineering
5. Diploma in Electronics Engineering

For each of these programs, the admission procedure is as follows:

1. Candidates must appear for the Uttarakhand JEEP examination.
2. Based on the JEEP scores, candidates are called for counselling by UBTER.
3. During counselling, seats are allotted based on merit and preferences of the candidates.
4. Once allotted a seat, candidates must complete the admission formalities at RIT within the specified timeframe.

Total student intake in all diploma programs is 498, and this is maintained under the guidance of 43 dedicated faculty members constituting a good student-teacher ratio for personalized student learning and mentoring.
