It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) New Delhi, and recognized by the Government of Karnataka. The institute is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. 

SVIT Bangalore offers B.E courses at the undergraduate level.The B.E programmes offered at SVIT are Computer Science and Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, AIML, Data Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.The institute also offers MBA and MCA courses. P.hD Course is also offered in various disciplines. The course duration ranges from two to four years. Candidates who want to take admission at SVIT must have the eligibility criteria.
