Sainik Institute of Management and Technology (SIMT) is an affiliated college, set up in 2014, situated in Jalandhar, Punjab. Located at Ladowali Road, Master Tara Singh Nagar, this institute has started making its mark in the IT education new breed. SIMT is designed to provide a limited list of IT courses for undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The institute is quite young and has been growing to establish itself as an educational centre in the region that offers quality education for this expanding area of information technology.

In addition to the classrooms, Sainik Institute of Management and Technology offers the following facilities to the convenience of the students. The institute has an air-conditioned, fully computerised library that acts as information centre. The library is loaded with over 1000+ books on varied subjects, 40 journals and magazines subscriptions and English as well as regional language newspapers daily The library is a good fit for academic learning. The reading room can comfortably contain more than one hundred students at a time hence the environment is appropriate for undisturbed reading. Further, SIMT has two developed computer labs with modern advanced apparatuses working under Windows 2K and Unix systems. The facilities that are offered include sports facilities, a canteen, a gym and transport services to the part of the city and other parts of Jalandhar.

In regards to programmes of study, SIMT offers three full-time programmes, all of which are Information Technology based. Among them are a B.Sc IT – Bachelor of Science in Information Technology; M.Sc IT – Master of Science in Information Technology; and a PGDCA – Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications. The B.Sc IT programme is offered over three years, the M.Sc IT takes two years and the PGDCA takes one year.
