Sambhram College & Institute of Nursing, Kolar, which was established in 2004 and is located in M S Palya, Via Jalahalli East, Bangalore, India. Sambhram College has a diverse student enrollment of 167 students with a faculty of 13 members offering a wide programmes in nursing. The institute offers 5 courses in 3 different degrees of nursing, right from GNM, B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc. Nursing with medical-surgical nursing, obstetric and gynaecology nursing, and community health nursing.
The college utilises numerous facilities whose purpose is to improve the capability of the students in college. Existing laboratories include the Nursing Foundation, Maternal and Child Health (MCH), Community Health Nursing (CHN), and Nutrition with fitted nursing equipment for practical nursing training. They act as central faculty and students’ learning resource center and has a vast collection of Indian and foreign book and journals. Students are able to retrieve e-journals and digitize the technical books through high-speed WIFI connectivity available on the campus. Dependent on the realm of health, the college proudly provides a modern floored gymnasium and additional equipment of other physical activities, such as a large open ground for sports activities and a concrete surfaced basketball court. The availability of a qualified full-time physical training teacher promotes intercollegiate and university-level sports participation.
A total of5 full-time courses are feasible at Sambhram College and the Institute of Nursing to cater to the different levels of nursing courses. The following are the course we offer in the institute: Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc Nursing in Medical Surgical Nursing, M.Sc Nursing in Obstetrical and Gynaecological Nursing, M.Sc Nursing in Community Health Nursing. The college as a whole has an approved intake for all courses as 110, Of these, the GNM programme has an intake of 60 students, while B.Sc. Nursing has an intake of only 40. Due to the lower number of intakes, generally the postgraduate programmes have even lesser number of seats, which range from 3-4 seats for each stream This helps to provide individual focus and better training.
Admission to Sambhram College and Institute of Nursing is intended to choose the best qualified and motivated students for its programmes.
