Samuel Polytechnic College was started in the year 1998 and is an affiliated college situated in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu state. This AICTE approved polytechnic college maintains four engineering diploma courses. The college is a four-year institution located on a 6.14- acre land, with a total student enrolment of 317 learners, staffed by 28 members of faculty. Samuel Polytechnic College is an institution of technical learning that focuses on providing competent and professional staff and qualifying technicians and technologists in Civil Mechanical Electrical Electronics, and Computer Engineering disciplines. The institute therefore; due to it’s distinct emphasis on practical orientation as a center of learning and practical skills relevant in industries; can be considered as ideal for any would-be engineer in the region.

The college has numerous infrastructural amenities that make learning experiences of the college students the best. The library, a key facility of academics, has flexible compulsory library hour in student’s timetable to ensure constant usage of their large collection. Physics, Chemistry and Language Laboratory are well equipped for 60 students per batch and are beyond AICTE norms. This is in line with the commitment the college has had to put up an IT department with an internet center with a capacity of 25 computer systems connected to high broadband internet. For their health needs, the institute avails sport amenities and a health facility that provides first aid to the students. The male and female students have different hostels for living with adequate facility of the amenities and standard security.

Samuel Polytechnic College has a total of four full time diploma courses and all the courses take three years. The institute has been given an overall approval to admit 228 students for all its programmes. Mechanical Engineering Diploma course has the largest uptake with 108 seats, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering Diploma comes second with 60 seats, Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering Diploma courses admitted 30 students each. Tau CET courses are intended to give students foundational knowledge to assure successful careers in the engineering industry.
