Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies, Pune (SIMS) is a maritime training institute established in 2002. Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies was established by Executive Ship Management Pvt Ltd, Singapore, and is recognised by the D.G Shipping, Government of India and affiliated with Indian Maritime University, Chennai. 

Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies offers full-time degree and certificate courses for both pre-sea and post-sea training, including a Diploma and B.Tech.  SIMS Lonavala also provides value added courses and offshore training for experienced seafarers. 

Samundra Institute admission is based on the scores obtained by the candidates in the IMU CET, followed by a personal interview and medical tests conducted by the institute. Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies provides all facilities and infrastructure to students, including a 240º field of view full mission bridge simulator, a liquid cargo handling simulator, a tank room with a FRAMO cargo pump, a chemical laboratory, an ECDIS simulator, and an LNG simulator. 

SIMS Lonavala facilities also include a luxurious guest house, a well-stocked library, a cafeteria, and a sports and recreational centre for the trainees and the staff.
