Sandur Polytechnic, Bellary was started in 1988, located at Yeshwantnagar via Sandur in the district of Bellary Karnataka State. This affiliated college approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has been producing technical talent for more than three decades. This institute comprises of twenty-five acres of area the institute offers a number of diploma courses in engineering disciplines. The total intakes of students are 595 and faculty of 34, so the Sandur Polytechnic atmosphere is suitable and more conducive for imparting technical knowledge. Sandur Polytechnic thus currently offers a total of five full time diploma courses all of which are a regular types of courses. The courses are Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, and Civil. The entrance examination is a 90-minute test in Mathematics and Science, based on the 10th standard syllabus.
Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering: With an approved intake of 60 students, this program follows the same admission procedure as the Civil Engineering diploma. Candidates are selected based on their performance in the qualifying exam and the institute's entrance test.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: This course too has an intake of 60 students, which is approved. The selection procedure involves assessment of the performance of the candidate in the qualifying exam and the entrance examination that checks the candidate's knowledge of Mathematics and Science up to the 10th standard level.
Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering: The seats in this program total 60 and admission is strictly on the combined merit of qualifying examination and entrance test. The 90-minute entrance examination is equally distributed between Mathematics and Science.
Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering: The seats offered in this program are 60. The same admission procedure is followed as in other diploma courses. The candidates are admitted through their 10th standard results along with the performance of entrance examination conducted by the institute.
