Sardar Ajit Singh Memorial Girls College Bhopal, started in 2006 is only for the girls affiliated college situated in Gram Adampur Chhawani, Raisen Road, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Situated at a two-acre campus, the college teaches three full-time programmes in education B.Ed, M.Ed, and D. El. Ed. Having a strength of 255 total students and 20 faculty members, it ensurs a well-concentrated environment at the college. It is clear that education is very important to the institution shown by its specialized lists in offering teacher training programmes.
Sardar Ajit Singh Memorial Girls College has a variety of amenities intended to improve the learning processes of the students in the institution. Equipped with more than six thousand, one hundred and thirty three books, the college library has textbooks, encyclopedias, dictionaries, journals and periodicals to support scholars’ learning. The IT facilities consist of having a computer lab with forty computers, in which they provide practical exercises frequently through the current software and hardware. In this regard the college has established a health centre equipped with first aid facilities and a gym for health purposes. Provisions for sports and extra curricula activities offer an additional assurance towards development approach. The campus has an event and seminar facility, staff and students’ cafeteria, and accommodation for guest and faculty/students’ family.
Sardar Ajit Singh Memorial Girls College provides only three full time courses out of which all are related to education and teacher training. These are; Bachelor of Education (B. Ed), Master of Education (M. Ed), and Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed). This college has a general student intake capacity of 255 for all its programmes of study. Specific graduation data for the latest year is not possible to provide yet college prepare skilled teachers in the region through its teacher education programmes.
There is no direct admission in Sardar Ajit Singh Memorial Girls College and admissions are taken purely on the basis of marks secured by the students in qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests strictly as per the rules and regulations framed by state government/UT and university from time to time. The B.Ed programme being a professional course, the admission is done on the basis of marks score in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test. The M.Ed programme also has the same process, the admission to be awarded on merit in the qualifying examination or entrance examination.
Besides the commitment to education the college is accredited to the NAAC and approved by NCTE which ensure the programmes offered in the college meet national norms for teacher education. However, there is lack of information regarding scholarships and some of the past or present students famous elsewhere, still the college strive for women education particularly for teaching career enabling many female teachers in the region. Information established for me is Bhopal and the area of institution of 2 acre makes the environment fit for learning and growth of students is being equip with knowledge in preparation for successful careers in the field of education.
