Sarojini Naidu Vanita Pharmacy Maha Vidyalaya, was set up in the year 1997 is a pharmacy College in Secunderabad, Telangana. Situated across a 2.29 acre area, this women’s college offers various pharmacy packages approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). 8 courses are offered in 3 degree programs and the total number of students admitted are 401 for the institute is B. Pharma, M. Pharma and Pharm D programs. The faculty of the college has a strength of 52 and thus the college has a good teacher student ratio that enables it provide quality education.
The establishment for the college has modern equipment to support its academic programmes. The campus also comprises a well stocked library with over 10,000 books national and international journals and e journals. Student utilize modern computer laboratory with internet connection of 100 megabit per second and the institution has Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) throughout the compound. Pharmaceutical Analysis Laboratory equipped by the college has the modern instruments including HPLC and UV-visible spectrophotometer. There are 12 classrooms equipped with air conditioning, digital boards. The institute also has a five-storied girls’ hostel with triple occupancy, a bathroom in each room.
Sarojini Naidu Vanita Pharmacy Maha Vidyalaya offers a variety of Pharmacy course for its students. It has an intake of 100 for B.Pharma and 30 for Pharm. D. M.Pharma is also offered by the college offering varieties of specialisations that include Pharmaceutics with 15 seats and Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology and Regulatory Affairs with 6seats each. All programs are for full-time, and ultimately are aimed at familiarizing the student with all the aspects of pharmacy activity.
For, admission to first year B.Pharma and Pharm.D courses, the student has to qualify in TS EAMCET, held in April/May every year. For M.Pharma programs the admission is offered on the basis of Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) and Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET). The college follows a 70:30 seat distribution ratio where as 70 % of the seats are allotted through counseling based on the entrance Examination and 30% of seats are under management quota. This helps to reduce bias in admission and allows hard working student from different backgrounden to gain admission.
