This paper aims to discuss SB College of Nursing located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, which was founded in 2003. This affiliated college is sited in Yelahanka New Town of Bangalore and has been modling the young minds towards healthcare professionals since its establishment for nearly two decade. The nursing courses offered by the institution undergo through Indian Nursing Council (INC) and it offers a number of nursing courses in different fields. It offer 9 full time courses among which includes Undergraduate, Postgraduate and diploma courses. The number of approved intakes for all these courses is as follows Two hundred and fifty six students. The major programmes offered at college level are 4 year B.Sc. Nursing with intake capacity of 60, three year GNM with an intake of 60 and two year Post basic B.Sc Nursing for 45 intakes. For those students who are looking for further specialisation, the college has several M.Sc Nursing specialisations in Medical Surgical, Child Health, Mental Health, Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing, and Community Health Nursing, with 5 seats in each respectively.

Admission procedures of SB College of Nursing are made in way that the institution is able to select qualified students for its programmes, generally admit a candidate based on performance on the relevant qualifying examinations. In case of the undergraduate programmes as B.Sc Nursing & GNM, the candidates who have passed 10+2 with science stream are eligible. The Post Basic B. Sc Nursing programme is for registered nurse’s possessing diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery. For postgraduate courses like M.Sc Nursing and MHA it is expected that one has a Bachelors degree in the related field.
