SBK Government PG College, Jaisalmer: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

SBK Government PG College is located in the heart of Rajasthan and was established in 1970 in the decade of Jaisalmer. This affiliated college constructed in a vast area of 70 acres was providing educational facilities for more than five decades to the region. This college is NAAC accredited that provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The college currently boasts of a student population of 4,155, whereas the faculty member stands at 12; therefore, the college provides a proper educating atmosphere. The institution has a total of 8 courses in 6 degrees to accommodate students with diversified academic focus in arts, commerce and sciences.

While in SBK Government PG College there are many facilities which have been put in place to help improve the overall learning process. Its library contains, it is estimated, about 35000 volumes and is a valued aid to both students and professors. The campus facilities consist of well equipped laboratories, a large auditorium for seminars and other occasions, canteen etc. For the sport-loving students, there is sport facilities in the college while for athletes who like working out, there is a college gym. The college also helps outstation students to find separate hostels for boys and girls to make their stay comfortable. Moreover, all the institutions’ facilities provide learning technology to promote digital learning and inform students of technological innovations.

The College offers in total 8 courses out of which one is a postgraduate course and seven are undergraduate courses. Undergraduate includes full time courses as BA, B.Com, B.Sc Maths, B.Sc Bio Group and post graduate as MA Pol Science & History, M.Sc Botany, M.Com Business Admin. This college has a good number of intakes with 320 in BA and 80 in B.Com and 70 each in B.Sc Maths and B.Sc Bio Group. The college recorded total enrollment of one thousand, two hundred and ninety-seven students in the academic year 2022; one thousand, one hundred and thirteen in Undergraduate programmes and one hundred and eighty four in Postgraduate programmes.

In this college, the admission process for the students is based on a merit base without discriminating against any people. Again, as much as there may be set dates for admissions every year, the students are advised go the college website or better still the admission office to get the right dates selected for the year being considered. Application for the different courses offered at the college is done according to the results obtained in the qualifying tests/ examinations. Still, the institution attaches great importance to supplying educational openings to local learners, among them, 100 percent learners are from the state. SBK Government PG College also shows its concern in issuing reimbursements; 424 students of UG and 132 students of PG had availed reimbursements in the academic year 2022. This support system makes sure that any deserving student should be able to go after his or her dreams academically without having to worry where the money for the fees will come from. The college as a government run institution bears a large of responsibility of being an instructional facility in the development of the youths of Jaisalmer and in large extension the youths of Rajasthan.
