School of Biotechnology, Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal Madhya Pradesh established the School of Biotechnology in the year 2003. This specialised institution has been in the arena of biotechnology education for almost two decades. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved this school and it provides focused courses in the commercially booming sector of biotechnology. The institute is situated along Airport Road and thus creates an appropriate setting for higher scientific learning and research.

School of Biotechnology offers several facilities for the students to improve their academic performance. This college has a well stocked library and as are expected serves as the source of knowledge for all the students and the instructors. Departmental laboratories are used as learning facilities which are important when it comes to practice within biotechnology. There is also a signup for students’ welfare by having different hostel accommodation for male and female students. The girls’ hostel is proposed as largely accommodating one hundred students with single-seated rooms and additional comfortable facilities – wireless and indoor games, a gymnasium. It also has working relations with its alumni through a functional association to support the current and aspiring students.

School of Biotechnology is afforded two postgraduate programmes in biotechnology. The M.Tech Biomolecular Engineering and Biotechnology provides the students with two years of full time programme which constitutes the very structure of the institution. This programme has an approved intake of 18, which is an assurance of quality for the institute as well as showing the institute’s policy in offering its services with personal touch. The subject of this course is the development of highly specialised knowledge and Biotechnology competencies that shall allow the students pursue further education and professional work in research, industries,and academic sectors. The other course is PGD Biomolecular Engineering and Biotechnology.

To check the right level of course requirements of M.Tech Biotechnology, the School of Biotechnology, RGPV has set admittance criteria to allow students with aptitude in biotechnology or related field to gain admission into the programme. It is probable that the school uses national level entrance exams for offering admissions to the M.Tech programme and employs certain exams which are unknown at the moment.
