72 MonthsSchool of Education and Humanities offers Ph.D. programme in Education and allied disciplines including Economics, English, Political Science, and History under the vertical ‘Humanities’ Thrust areas of study as covered by the doctoral programme are very relevant and align with the needs of contemporary times as envisaged by NEP 2020. Scholars can pursue their doctoral programme in emerging and critical areas namely Assessment and Evaluation, Educational Psychology, E-learning, School management and administration, Curriculum development, Value Education, Innovative Pedagogies, Research-Based Teacher Education, Peace & Sustainability. The research scholars enrolled in the Ph.D. program under the School of Education and Humanities hail from diversified areas encompassing Private and Govt. Sector across diverse educational bodies like SCERT, State Education Departments, and various Govt. Schools and Teacher Education Institutes. Research being undertaken by these scholars is also closely connected to and draws their inputs from their professional expertise and experience. Apart from this, the School of Education and Humanities also takes pride in having research scholars availing fellowships granted by the University Grant Commission. Ph.D. Supervisors in the School of Education and Humanities have impressive research records including high numbers of national and international publications of good repute to their credits. Many of the Faculty members have developed their own MOOCs in collaboration with international Agencies.
A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time. Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
