School of Engineering and Emerging Technologies is a constituent college of the Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology, Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, which was established in the year 2002. The institute is seated in an expansive 40 acre of land and is known for providing many branches in engineering. Despite having 19 members in the faculty, the school offers education to 232 students studying different programmes. The institute has 13 courses for 5 degree programmes, both undergraduate and postgraduate with specialisation in engineering and computer applications. Of the enroled students 86% are male and only 14% are female students 85% are local students while 15% are from other parts of India only.
School of Engineering and Emerging Technologies has a list of available infrastructure which facilitates learning and personal development of the students. Boys and girls have their different hostel facilities fully equipped with modern amenities and are in the care of appointed wardens for excellent learning conditions. The library contains printed and electronic resources, library management information systems and a wide range of books and periodicals. Fitness is important at the college and there exists a gym and many other facilities such as basketball and tennis courts, football and cricket playing fields. Facilitating academic activities, the institute has functional laboratories for practical learning in most departments. School of Engineering and Emerging Technologies delivers a total of 13 courses comprising full-time undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. The undergraduate level programmes offered taught at the Institute include five B.Tech programmes, and one BCA programme at undergraduate level. The postgraduate level programmes are four M.Tech specialisations, one MCA programme and Doctoral level. The total number of students offered for the undergraduate engineering programmes is 300 through each B.Tech course there are 60 students. The BCA programme is having an intake of 30 students whereas MCA and M.Tech programmes have an intake of 20 and 15 respectively. The courses are B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, PhD in Mechanical and so on.

Intake in the School of Engineering and Emerging Technologies is mainly facilitated by national university entrance examinations. Regarding admissions, for B.Tech programmes priority is given to JEE Main rank. The last remaining seats in any particular category carried forward are then sold based on merit in the qualifying examination. The institute also use GATE scores to admitted the M.Tech students and uses the remaining capacity to admit student from other quotas. For the BCA and MCA programmes, admissions will be given on the merit basis depending on the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination.

The School of Engineering and Emerging Technologies, Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology, Baddi (BUEST) provides a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering and technology, the institute is renowned for its holistic education in different engineering fields. The admission process in BUEST is formulated to identify meritorious and deserving candidates through national-level entrance tests and merit-based choices.
For UG courses, admissions generally open in May-June for the August-September starting academic year. The institute gives top priority to JEE Main scores for B.Tech admissions. For PG courses such as M.Tech, GATE scores are the first preference for admission. The BCA and MCA courses take students on merit basis in the qualifying exams.
The minimum qualification requirement for admission to B.Tech programs is passing 10+2 with Physics, Maths, and Chemistry as core subjects. For admission to M.Tech programs, candidates need a B.E./B.Tech. or an equivalent degree in the relevant specialization. BCA candidates must be 10+2 pass while MCA candidates require a graduation degree.
Application Process
Application process for BUEST differs according to the program:
For B.Tech programs:
1. Qualify JEE Main examination.
2. Go to the official BUEST website and complete the online application form.
3. Upload necessary documents and pay the application fee.
4. Wait for the merit list on the basis of JEE Main scores.
5. If shortlisted, fill in the admission formalities such as document verification and fee payment.
For M.Tech courses:
1. Clear the GATE exam.
2. Apply through the official BUEST website when applications are invited.
3. Upload necessary documents and pay the application fee.
4. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for further rounds (if any).
5. The final selection is done on the basis of GATE score and any other criteria specified by the institute.
For BCA and MCA courses:
1. Go to the BUEST website and submit the online application form.
2. Upload necessary documents such as 10+2 marksheet for BCA and bachelor's degree marksheet for MCA.
3. Pay the application fee.
4. Merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination.

Degree wise Admission Process
B.Tech: Six B.Tech programs with 360 seats in total (60 seats per course) are provided by BUEST. JEE Main scores form the major criterion of admissions. Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering are the programs provided. One must have completed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
M.Tech: Four M.Tech programs with 15 seats each are offered by the institute, amounting to 60 seats. The admissions are done on the basis of GATE scores. The specializations are Structural Engineering, Production Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives, and Computer Science and Engineering. The candidate should have a B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent degree in the same field.
BCA: This undergraduate course of 3 years has an intake capacity of 30 students. The admissions are made on the basis of merit as per the marks secured in the qualifying examination (10+2).
MCA: The Master of Computer Applications course has an intake capacity of 20 students. The admissions are made on the basis of merit as per the marks secured in the qualifying examination (bachelor's degree).
Ph.D: BUEST provides Ph.D. programs in different engineering fields. Although specific admission information for Ph.D, it's typical for such programs to look at academic record, research proposal, and interview performance.
