Frances Newton Hospital, Ferozepur, the School of Nursing was started in 1894. Serving more than a century of mentoring the careers in and future of nursing, it lies in Cantonment Area, Ferozepur, Punjab. Recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the school provides the specialised training in nursing in its campus of 12 acres. Due to a total of 135 students that take an intake and a faculty of 2, the school is able to offer disciplined learning. The co-educational institute has two courses in nursing and both of them are degree courses which are full time in nature and aimed at producing competent and professional health care personnel in theelivery region.

School of Nursing at Frances Newton Hospital strives to give students a rounded education, improved by the utilities of the twenty first century. Separate boys and girls hostels are provided to students with comfortable living during the learning process. This institute has a wide library to support the literature of nursing, and research materials for nurses. Nursing laboratories are unique, and they are essential for the acquisition of practical skills which can only be acquired from the special nursing laboratories. It also possess an auditorium used for organisational events, lectures and seminars that improve learning on the campus. A cafeteria, sports grounds, a healthy centre with first aid provisions add value to the college campus facilities. The institute is well facilitated with IT solutions that improve the current streamlined leaning process, and education in the emerging digital healthcare sector.

The School of Nursing offers two comprehensive nursing programmes, the Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) and the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) courses are the two recognised nurse educating courses. ANM programme is a two year course which takes 40 students and GNM programme is a three year course for 50 students. Both courses are full time, offer nursing and midwifery training in a compact and comprehensive manner. The gross enrolment for both programmes is ninety for the entire year, which the institute has set as a way of making sure that class size is kept decent, as a measure towards maintaining quality education. They are intended to provide the student with knowledge and skills pertinent to the job market to be a nurse.
