MMT Hospital, Idukki, a standalone School of Nursing was established in the year 2001 at Mundakayam East, Idukki, Kerala. This is a co-educational school that is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) so as to offer quality nursing education. The school is located on 12 acre land and though the school offers limited number of degree program which is only Nursing. At the moment and as a result of students’ registration, the institute has 65 students and is managed by 9 qualified staff members. The School of Nursing MMT Hospital is aimed at offering all round nursing education to such students to enable them handle the growing challenge of the health sector.
The institute has a number of facilities to support and facilitate learning and development of the students of the institute. It also has an auditorium for conducting meetings and seminars, a cafeteria for serving food and snacks and some rooms designated for guests such as guest faculty and family.
The MMT Hospital School of Nursing, Idukki now has only one full time course in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). This is a three years diploma course which aims at producing comprehensive nursing educations to the students. For this program, the approved intake is 36, signifying the institutes intention to continue ensuring a healthy, student faculty ratio in order to facilitate quality delivery of education to students.
