School of Studies in Electronics and Photonics, Pt Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The school of studies in electronics and photonics was set up in 1994 as a constituent school of Pt Ravishankar Shukla University Raipur. Established at Amanaka G.E. Road, raipur, Chhattisgarh this institute is devoted to electronics and photonics learning. It is accredited by the All India council for Technical Education abbreviated as AICTE in order to encourage standard technical education. The faculty of the institute consist 6 members and there offer 5 different courses of M.Tech, M.Sc, Ph.D, M.Phil, Diploma etc. The concentration on electronics and photonics already makes the school a popular one for students focused on these fields. 

The School of Studies in Electronics and Photonics has several facilities that aims to provide the best quality learning to its students. The institute has set a standard library that ensures that students get every academic assistance that they need. The IT infrastructure is very good and serves modern teaching-learning methods together with research endeavours. One of the ornaments of the labs is the Research lab which focuses on the simulation and modeling of optoelectronic devices, and deposition of thin-film, solution-processable novel semiconducting films labs. This lab’s specialty is energy-related research which encompasses photovoltaic, display device and solid-state lighting technologies. The institute also have good alumni network and has WiFi facility all through the campus so that the students can be connected and can have access to the internet. The School of Studies in Electronics and Photonics is offering a total number of 5 courses out of which all the offered courses are full time. 

These include Diploma in renewable energy, M.Sc Electronics, M.Tech in Opto Electronics and Laser technology, Ph.D in Electronics and M.Phil in Electronics. The total approved intake of students in all the courses is one hundred and ten students. It is clear that the M.Sc Electronics have the biggest enrollment with 20 seats while the M.Tech program offers 18 seats. The institute also provided the research experience through Ph.D programmes having ten intakes of 9 students. 

The admission process for Studies Electronics and Photonics is somewhat different for different relevant programs of study. The M.Tech program in Opto Electronics and Laser Technology is possible to join through GATE or through an entrance test done by the university. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is one of the exams where the institute accepts the scores for this program. Admissions to the Ph.D program are based on an entrance test while admission to M.Phil program is also through an entrance test. 

Though information on scholarships are scarce, students should know that most universities provide various types of financial assistance to students in need.
