SD College, started in 1973, is a co-educational college in the state of Punjab, India. This affiliated college provides a cross-section of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within this field of study. Located in a 10 acre land, the college accommodated 632 students, out of which 302 are males and 330 are females. The institution has 37 members in the faculty, thereby offering a good student teacher ratio. SD College teaches 12 of course in 10 degrees programmes for Commerce & Computer Applications, Business Administration & Vocational studies.

These include; SD College Hoshiarpur has designed their programmes to suit the needs of their students to cover various fields of study. It offers 9 courses which are some under graduate and some post graduate courses. These are the Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), and several Bachelor of Vocational (B.Voc) in Software Development, Banking Insurance and Retailing, and Fashion Designing among others. To establish the college as a hub for graduate and post- graduate business education the college offers the following programmes in commerce: M. Com. and PGDCA in Computer Applications. These include all the following programmes which are full time, regular and professionally preparing the learners to attain higher levels of understanding in their areas of specialization. There are no requirements for the total number of seats to all courses, while the total college intake is 632.

At SD College, Hoshiarpur, admission is strictly done after using the merit-list, while some programmes do include interview criteria as well. For instance, the Admission Committee shortlists candidates for interviews for the B.Com (Hons) programme and both merit and interview for B.Voc Fashion Designing programme.
