SD College of Pharmacy started in 1985 at Barnala, Punjab, is an Affiliated college. This is a specialized institution to offer the course in pharmacy because it prepares its students to be pharmacists. PCI also known as the pharmaceutical regulatory Authority of India has recognized SD College of Pharmacy along with AICTE that focuses on pharmacy education. As presently the college has 111 students enrolled for various programmes and faculties as many as 5, the student faculty ratio is quite descent and makes it easier to devote proper time to students and proper teaching.
SD College of Pharmacy has numerous amenities of which are supposed to support the learning activities of its learners. SD College of Pharmacy currently offers two primary courses: The D.Pharma stood for Diploma in Pharmacy and B.Pharma. This is a two-year full programme that prepares students for the knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences. This college has been permitted to take 60 students for this course and only a few students who want to be pharmacists after the completion of their degree are allowed to enroll each year. Because of this focused approach the institution is able to offer quality education and practical experience meeting the needs of the pharmacy profession.
