SD Jain Girls College, the women’s college in Nagaland, India, was set up in 1993. This affiliated college is NAAC accredited and provides various undergraduate programmes only for female candidates. Founded on a small plot of 0.49 acres of land, the college has total student population of 1126 and employs 27 full time faculty members. This college offers eight different programmes of study spread over four degrees majoring in arts and commerce streams. The institution proudly supports the education of female students the institution enrolls only women as students and out of these a substantial 93% are locals.

SD Jain Girls College boasts of a number of amenities that can improve the learning environment of the learners in the institution. The library situated in the first floor contains a wide range of books for the undergraduate courses taught in the institution, magazine and newspapers. It has a spacious reading room of 100 students capacity that creates an ideal place of study and research. Leisure activities include a table tennis, carrom and chess boards placed in the auditorium cum girls’ common room so that they could relax during the free periods. The institution also holds a students’ sports day to encourage talents in sports production among the students. Apart from that, facilities’ IT systems are well developed and effective, and thus the students are provided with technological equipment they require in their colleges.

The college provides a total of eight courses and all are full time courses. These are among the course the offers BA (Bachelor of Arts) with different majors including English, Economics, History, Education, and Political Science. Commerce students can avail of B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce) as well as B.Com Honours in the college.

The admission procedures at SD Jain Girls College are also centralised and use merit as the key factor for the admission of students into the College.
