SDM College of Education Terdal, was established in the year 2004 known as one of the best teacher training college located at Terdal Karnataka. This coed school to implement future educators functioning on twelve acres of land in its vicinity. Recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE) with affiliation, Karnataka an established SDM College of Education is committed to providing and promoting quality education relevant to the National standards. The college currently has 198 students in its student population and has a faculty of 10, making the learning environment of the college very individual and focused on the students academic potential.

SDM College of Education has outlined various facilities which help in the learning process as well as in the development of the learners. A set of undergraduate library contains knowledge while departmental laboratory contains practical knowledge. The campus currently has an auditorium for event and seminars in order to enhance the academic life of the campus. Regarding the participant’s physical health, the college holds sports facilities and a gym. IT structure makes it possible to maintain up-to-date the students on modern trends in education. There is also accommodation; the college has separate hostel for boys and girls, canteen and a health center with first aid facilities.

SDM College of Education, Terdal, aims in offering quality teacher education by offering B.Ed course. As a two-year full-time course, the institution has an approved capacity of one hundred students for a course that prepares a large number of competent teachers every year. The B.Ed programme aims at preparing teachers who are knowledgeable, skillful as well as those who have acquired practical teaching experience in their teaching vocation.

The selection procedure of the SDM College of Education includes the scores in the qualifying examination and the entrance test. The college has the state government and the UT administration and the affiliated university’s guidelines on admission policies in place.
