SECAB Association's ARS Inamdar Arts Science and Commerce College for Women, Bijapur: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Set up in the year 1974, the A.R.S. Inamdar Arts, Science and Commerce College for Women, bijapur, under the banner of educationist and social worker Late Shri. BM Inamdar, is a women’s college in Karnataka which reflects the vision of SECAB Association of offering quality education to the women. This affiliated college is situated at Jalanagar, Bagalkot Cross Road and the college area is 1.5 acres This college provides various Programmes in Art, Science, Commerce etc. This is a small learning institute with the total number of 632 students and its faculty consists of 32 professors. Currently the college is NAAC accredited which indicates the college’s bias to quality education. With four different degree programs, such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, and MA English, the college serves different academic and vocational needs of young women.

A.R.S. Inamdar Arts, Science and Commerce College for Women possesses a number of infrastructures that are meant to complement the education process. A good and richly stocked library is another significant feature of college education that plays central role in academic endeavours by offering the needed reading materials in form of books, magazines, research articles and other learning materials. There are well equipped and technologically sophisticated Science Laboratories infrastructures in the campus to make practical different science programme. For those with interest in sporting activities the college has facilities for both indoors and outdoors, and a gym. Good information technology facilities exist, including a computer laboratory that contains forty computers, for the preparation of students for the advanced technological world. A 250-seated seminar hall cum auditorium is used for lectures, seminars, international conferences, cultural programmes etc.

Currently, SECAB Association’s A.R.S. Inamdar College offers a total of four courses and all the courses are full time. These comprise of three three-year undergraduate programmes and one two-year post graduate programme These are the: The Bachelor of Arts (BA) The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) The Master of Arts in English (MA English) The college offers intake of 632 students in all the courses offered and enable quality education to as many women as possible in the region. Unfortunately, the intake numbers for majority of these courses have not been disclosed, although seven new students have been approved for the Masters in English per academic year.

Using formal admission process, SECAB Association’s A.R.S. Inamdar College is equally committed to conduction of merit admission. Concerning the admission process, the information about it is general and the colleges affiliated to the university are known to operate under certain conditions given by the parent university. There are no stipulated examinations stated by the college that is why it seems that it accepts students based on their previous performance. For those desiring financial aid the college may have scholarships but the particulars are not stated. However, there is an interesting thing that the college has it’s an Alumni Association registered with the department of co-operative societies and so this may provide networking platform of the students in the college.
