Senthil College of Education located in Puducherry was started in 2005 of boys and girls with the motive to produce quality teachers. Affiliated to a reputed University in Tamil Nadu, it occupies an area of 1.53acres in the heart of the PONDICHERRY TUTICORIN CITYampus is known for its quality education. The college received recognition from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and functions with the approval of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Currently, Senthil College of Education has 207 students with 16 faculties that teach three specialised degree programmes in education for the would-be teachers for different fields.

The college has put in place various infrastructure that would enable the students receive quality education. The academy has a library with a seating capacity of more than 50 students and with a collection of above 7000 books, 22 journals, several magazines for academic use. Another feature of the library is internet connection and facilities to access INFLIBNET for e-learning. 

Facilities of laboratory are available in the college, where the college ensures appropriate laboratory facilities required for department level training. Strategic separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls helps students to lead comfortable lives. It has also provision for an auditorium for conducting seminars and other activities, a cafeteria for visitors and a health centre with basic first aid amenities. As part of development, the college has exercise facilities and a gymnasium to ensure that all students interests are catered for. Senthil College of Education currently provides three full-time courses all of which aim at producing professional teachers. The finest achievement of the college is its two years B.El.ed program or Bachelors in Elementary Education. Additionally, the college provides two integrated four-year programs: B.Sc, B.Ed and BA, B.Ed, integrated courses where subject content knowledge is integrated with the teaching-learning process. Each of these programs has the approved capacity of 100 students, hence, the college’s coverage of aspirant educators. The number of students enrolled at the institution through all courses currently totals to 207, and is therefore selective to ensure that students receive individual attention.

Senthil College of Education follows an open admission policy, pragmatic with regards to marks scored in the examinations and/or entrance test. The college of B.Ed program follows the admission policy prescribed by the UGC/F berth, state government/U.T admin and that of the affiliated university.
