Shams Teacher's Training College is located in West Champaran, Bihar, and it takes in students purely for teacher-oriented training. The institution is also duly approved by the National Council for Teacher Education and measuring 1 acres of campus. The student-teacher ratio, the total enrolment of students as 263, and the faculty strength as 40, with personal attention and the imparting of good quality education.

Shams Teacher's Training College also provides all-round development facilities without hampering the learning experiences of the students. Separate boys' and girls' hostels will be able to accommodate as many as possible comfortably on the campus. In the area of education, Shams Teachers Training College offers two full-time courses catering to different levels of teacher training. The undergraduate professional courses available in the college are B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. Both of them are of two years duration.  The sanctioned intake capacity of students in the college is 200, out of which 100 students are admitted for both B.Ed and D.El.Ed courses. No age restriction is there for admission: generally 50% marks in each aggregate and at least 55% marks in Post Graduate program, or any other equivalent certificate is required for qualification. 

Admission in Shams Teachers' Training College is based purely on merit. Admissions to B.Ed and D.El.Ed courses shall be made through an entrance examination to be conducted on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or performance at the entrance examinations and through any other process of admission as may be prescribed by the State Government/ Union Territory Administration, the Affiliating University concerned.
