Shankarrao Dhawad Polytechnic, Nagpur, Maharashtra, was established in 1994. This affiliated college is on a small compact area of 1.5 acres of land and has a enrolment of students of 64, with a faculty strength of 4. The polytechnic provides a close teaching-learning environment and offers diploma programs in Engineering disciplines. There are three full-time diploma courses in Electrical Engg., Mechanical Engg., and Computer Technology. 

The polytechnic provides many facilities for the growth of its students in their academics and personal life. The library is a forte of the institute with more than 8,000 books related to different subjects in engineering and subscribes to acclaimed engineering journals and periodicals. This forms a very resourceful library, very instrumental for students and staff. There are well-equipped, modern computer labs with very recent systems, ensuring that students are updated with the technology. The departmental laboratories are oriented toward practical learning, which is core in developing practical abilities in the course of engineering. The institute has sports facilities in improving extracurricular activities among the students to have them physically fit and with good team spirits. An auditorium provides a venue for various events and seminars, making campus life lively. 

Shankarrao Dhawad Polytechnic has a focused curriculum with three full-time diploma programs. The courses run for three years for the different branches of Engineering viz. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Technology. In all the programs, the emphases would be to provide a strong foundation to the students in their respective fields, which would foster theoretical knowledge through practical skills.
