 Shantiniketan B Ed College, Bangalore, Karnataka, was established in 2007 and is one of the most prominent B.Ed colleges in South India. This college for both males and females recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) provides B.Ed. course of two years. The college has got accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) which shows the college has the quality policy for providing quality education. Shantiniketan B.Ed. College occupies a small area, where the college lies in about 1 acres and enroled strengths 87 students and teaching faculties are 11 efficient faculties. It is evident from the fact that the institution proudly offers a B.Ed. programme for preparing teachers which has an approved admission capacity of 100.

To support its students,  Shantiniketan B.Ed. College offers various amenities for the improvement of classroom learning atmosphere. The library which is a million pillar of the academic source has a rich stock of books, educational journals, periodicals, magazines and newspaper. It has a rich stock of books and has a seating capacity of fifty and remains open from nine in the morning to four in the afternoon, for each working days of a week, and also has internet and E-Library facilities. For training within the practical arena, the college holds the requisite quality laboratories such as Psychology, Computer, Language, Social Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, and Biological Science, etc. These facilities allow the students to undertake practical learning activities important for their teaching practice.

There is only one full time course offered by Shantiniketan B.Ed. College for which is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme. This is a two-year programme that aims at shaping prospective teachers who will effectively compete for the job require in the teaching profession. This college has an intake capacity of hundred seats for this course to meet the growing need of human resource in teaching profession. In spite of the fact that the quantitative data regarding the numbers of graduates could not be provided, the college offers emphasis on the given specialised programme which proves its commitment to producing competent teaching professionals.

Shantiniketan B.Ed. College has no pre-requisites for the admissions and students are selected strictly on the basis of merit of the respective examination. The eligibility to apply for B.Ed course is degree from any stream. The qualification criteria may vary slightly from college to college.

Those who have completed their post graduation can also apply for  B.Ed course. There are many student who do B.Ed after pg.

So you can get seat in B.Ed on the basis of pg. But before applying to a particular college do check their eligibility criteria.

The following is the eligibility criteria:

  • A candidate must secure atleast 50% marks in 10+2/3/4/5 pattern of education studied in University of Bangalore or any recognised university in Bangalore or India or abroad completed degree are eligible.
  • Candidates with less that 50% aggregate in degree but secured 50% aggregate in Masters are eligible for B.ed programme.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD who have secured 45% aggregate in degree or masters are also eligible.

As you have not mentioned you category or your education background I cannot say if you are eligible or not.But read the Eligibility criteria and see if you fulfill it or not.
