Sharnbasveshwar College of Science, Gulbarga: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

SCS was commenced in the year of 1956 at Vidya Nagar, Gulbarga, Karnataka and it is one of the prestigious colleges of Karnataka. This affiliated college with NAAC accreditation provides the various undergraduates and post graduates courses in science streams. Located at a spacious twenty three point twenty one acres, SCS is a co-educational institution of one thousand total enrolled students including three hundred and thirty six faculty members. The college currently teaches 13 programs at 2 levels of degree and confers concentrations in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computers, and Defense/Strategic Studies. In its undergraduate programs, SCS has adopted the correct ratio as it enrolls 54% female students and 46% male students.

To this end, the college understands the importance of having modern infrastructure to improve student learning outcomes. The total number of books in the SCS comprises approximately 46000, along with 35 journals /magazines and 12 newspapers for the satisfaction of students’ academic curiosity. There are spacious and well equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Statistics and Computer Science, Electronics for which the U.G.C. has provided assistance both for equipment and modernizing the Laboratories. 

Furthermore, the college provides research laboratories for teaching staff who undertake minor and major research undertakings. Students enjoy an auditorium for occasions, for example, occasions such as seminars, a cafeteria, a health center equipped with first aid, good information technology equipment, a sports hall with an emphasis on a healthy body, and all-round development through sports.

Sharnbasveshwar College of Science has in its affiliation thirteen programmes out of which five are at the Post Graduate level and eight at the Under Graduate level. The undergraduate programs include diverse B.Sc courses and majors like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science; Chemistry, Botany and Zoology and other distinctive blends of Defense and Strategic Studies. At post graduate level, M.Sc programmes in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science are offered in this college. 

All courses listed are undergraduate degree full-time, regular programs aimed at providing the solid ground in terminologies and professional experiences of respective fields. Although, the quantitative of the student intake per program course is not outlined clearly, the total enrolled students are one thousand and one, meaning students capacity in all courses offered is relatively large.
