Shikshan Mandal Mahila Mahavidyalaya has its affiliation with the Shivaji University, Kolhapur and was established in the year, 1986 The college is situated in Mangalwar Peth, Karad, Maharashtra. This women surrounded institution occupies as small area as 1.23 acres and has National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation. The college has a spread of 5 programs at both under graduate and post graduate levels for a total number of enrollment of 881 students. The institute has a faculty of 11; it has a good student teacher ratio As far as trainings are concerned. For instance, the college has relatively many female students 917 against the few male students only 18, which shows this college’s concern in the education of females. The college provides some of the most appropriate learning amenities to promote excellent learning among their students.

The campus is wireless enabled, and there are digital clicker boards in the classrooms as the learning.... The college library is computerized and the college student has an opportunity to access lots of academic materials. For the practical knowledge the institution has well equipped laboratory facilities in Food Science, Textile Science & Clothing, Geography and Computer Science. Moreover, research laboratory has been developed exclusively for the M.Phil and Ph.D. students in Geography. 

This is a premier women college where all the 5 available courses are full-time. The course offered reaches undergraduate study as well as postgraduate study; common courses include B.Com, BA, BCA, MA Geography and M.Sc Geography among others. Total intake capacity of the college is 881 and certain courses have specific intake capacity – 20 for MA Geography and 20 for M.Sc Geography. Although the given number of graduates for the latest year is missing, the college has adopted quality delivery by having proper course structure and facilities.
