About Shitala Prasad Mahavidyalaya, Pratapgarh

An affiliated college, Shitala Prasad Mahavidyalaya, is located at Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh. It is a co-educational institution that has many undergraduate and diploma courses within its compact campus of an area of 2.53 acres. This college has been approved by the National Council for Teacher Education or NCTE for quality teacher training programmes. Shitala Prasad Mahavidyalaya provides 32-faculty strength dedicated educators who have facilitated students to meet their learning objectives. The institute provides three different programmes, BA, B.Ed, and D.El.Ed, which support various interests in academics as well as career aspirations.

Shitala Prasad Mahavidyalaya has also invested well in IT infrastructure to catch up with the digital environment. The modern world of technology is made available to its students. On campus, there is an auditorium for seminars and events, a canteen for refreshment, and ample parking spaces. In sports and physical activities, the college, through sports facilities and gym, takes care of the over-all development of its students. A health centre with first aid service is also available for immediate medical needs.

A total three full-time courses are offered under different disciplines by Shitala Prasad Mahavidyalaya. With 400 seats, BA programme has maximum intake where it offers broader education in humanities and social sciences. For young minds aspiring to become teachers one day, the college provides a 100-seat capacity B.Ed programme. Other courses are Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) having seats for another 100 students and prepare students for teaching in primary schools. All these courses would be offered as full-time, therefore there would be concentrated and intensive learning experience.

Shitala Prasad Mahavidyalaya admission is as follows for different courses. The merit-based course, is based on marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, as the policy of the state government and university dictates. A similar merit-based admission process has been followed for the D.El.Ed programme also, about qualifying examination marks and other entrance exams, if any, that are mandatory according to the state government. The specific admission procedure of the BA course is most likely to be a general merit-based admission process.
