Recognized affiliated college named Shiva College of Education, Dirba started in 2009 in Sangrur at Punjab state. This co-educational institution recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), offers only the courses related to teacher education. Located at 3-acre land, the college has been having the total enrolment of 195 students for Bachelors of Education [B.Ed] program. With 18 members in the faculty of Shiva College of Education provide individual attention to every budding teacher with good student and teacher ratio.

The college has a variety of facilities that are peculiar to the improvement of learning atmosphere among the students. Such as well equipped class, class per and post class computerised library with competency educational collection and respective departmental established laboratory or practical area. In respect to physical fitness the college provides number of sports streams and gym. There is also a campus auditorium for event and seminar to ensure that there is an active academic community. Physically there are canteen, health center containing first aid facilities, and a guest house for the visiting faculty and our family. It can be concluded that the college accurately follows the principles of modern education as evidenced by an even level of the institution’s IT equipment, which will be essential in the future of education.

Shiva College of Education currently has only one full-time program, the Bachelor of Education Program. This course takes two years and we have an intake of only one hundred students as you will notice from the availability of only one hundred seats which is an indication of the college’s desire to train quality teachers. The course in B.El.Ed is offered by the University to prepare student’s professional self for successful teaching-learning career.

The admission process of the Shiva College of Education depends on merit, the marks secured by the student in the entrance examination/qualifying examination. The admission policy is fixed by the state government of Punjab and the affiliated university that the college is following.
