Shivalik Institute of Education and Research, Mohali (SIER) is one of the renowned institutions started in 2005. This is a co-educational institution wherein the students of Phase VI, Mohali, Punjab, are prepared for futures as educators. Like any affiliated college, SIER is recognised under the approval of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to maintain the quality standard for teacher education in the nation.

The institute occupies a small area of three acres, and it gives a student-orientated and highly focused approach with 91 students enrolled. As per today, SIER has 8 strong members of faculties and a good student-to-teacher ratio, which is helpful in providing individual attention to the students and enhancing the quality of the education system.

There is a fully equipped library on the first floor with an area of 5000 sq. m, and 50 students can sit at a time. Further, the institute has hostel accommodation for both male and female students with a dining hall where they are served quality and healthy meals.

Shivalik Institute of Education and Research offers two full-time postgraduate programmes: Bachelors in Education, B.ED., and Masters in Education, MA Education. Both programmes take two years, and the intake capacity of the programmes is 40 students each; therefore, total seats for all courses are 80. The B.Ed. programme is intended for practice teaching careers of students, and the MA Education programme provides education theory and practice. All these programmes are a result of SIER’s commitment to offer comprehensive teacher education as well as educational leadership.
