Shri JM Patel Institute of Social Work and Applied Arts, Anand was founded in the year 2007 as the shining trend of social work education in Gujarat. This affiliated college, affiliated with the University at the heart of Anand, has been building future social workers and communication professionals for the last decade. The institute provides an intimate learning environment with 109 students enroled and 9 faculty members. The institute offers four specialised courses under three degree programs, with an emphasis on social work, human resources, and mass communication. It thereby offers diversified career aspirations in the social sector.

Shree JM Patel Institute of Social Work and Applied Arts has four full-time courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These include: three-year BSW, two MSW, one general and the other with specialisation in Human Resources, both two-year; and one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism. At the graduate level, it offers a three-year BSW program, and at the postgraduate level, two MSWs, both two-year—one general and another with specialisation in Human Resources—alongside a one-year Postgraduate Diploma course in Mass Communication and Journalism.
