Shree Padmavathi Mahila Hindu College of Education was instituted in the year 1977. One among the major institutions located at Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, the affiliated college approved by NCTE has nearly four decades of experience ins haping the minds of future teachers. The college is housed in a compact 5-acre campus, ensuring ideal space for learning and growth. With a total enrolment of 153 students and a faculty strength of 12, this institute assures that there is personalised attention and that quality education reaches its students.

The primary focus of Shree Padmavathi Mahila Hindu College of Education is teacher education and offers a B.Ed course  with an intake capacity of 100 students every year. There are quite a number of facilities in the college that improve the learning experience for students. The I.T Infrastructure provides a computer laboratory well-equipped for students with 20 computers. These computers are networked through Local Area Network and are provided with internet facilities. Therefore, the students can operate in a 1:2 ratio. The Education Technology Lab is updated with modern equipment like LCD projectors, overhead projectors, slide projectors, epidiascope, televisions with VCD players and cameras, thereby giving opportunities to the students to have hands-on experience in educational technology.

Being the treasure trove of knowledge, the college library houses 6,300 volumes of works and literature on various subjects related to teacher education along with the encyclopedias, dictionaries, periodicals, and educational journals. The library is complemented by a spacious reading room where students can read and pursue research with comfort. For purposes of physical development and recreation, there are sports facilities available. An auditorium is also available for seminars, besides other events, so that students are allowed to grow both in the areas of scholarship and character.

Shree Padmavathi Mahila Hindu College of Education is a two-year, full-time B.Ed course. This type of specialisation enables the institution to channel its resources and expertise effectively for delivering high-quality teacher education. The college is provisionally allowed 100 intake seats for the B.Ed programme.

The admission process in Shree Padmavathi Mahila Hindu College of Education is merit-based, in compliance with the policies of the state government, Union Territory administration, and the associated university. Students will be selected strictly on their merit by qualifying and/or entrance examination. Even so, the college may hold other selection procedures in addition to these two tests, following the policies prevailing at the given time.
