Shree Raghavendra College of Education, Cuddalore: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Shree Raghavendra College of Education, the college functions in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu since 2005 is the exclusive teacher education institute in the region. Established in the Keezhamoongiladi in Chidambaram, it is men and women college which aims at producing future educators. The institute is located in a small area of 1.1 acre area, and is an affiliated college recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Shree Raghavendra College of Education intakes 188 students in total and has a capacity of designing faculty of 10, which gives a specialized training ground for the future teachers.

The college has a number of amenities meant to improve the learning environment of students in the college. The IT infrastructure includes a computer lab with 25 systems, providing a 1:4 relationship of the course for the acquisition of practical experience and fundamentals of computer operations. A fully endowed library stocks many books of different fields, reference books, periodicals, local and international newspapers and magazines. 

There is also special physical science labs in the college in that teacher-trainees can practice practicals in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Starting with the additional facilities there is the institute’s provision of sports facility and a multi purpose auditorium for organizing seminars, symposiums and cultural programs.

Shree Raghavendra College of Education currently offers one primary course: It is known as the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program. This course is a full-time course and it takes two years to complete, and for which the institution has an approved capacity of one hundred. This is a professional course aimed at producing teaching professional with pedagogy and content knowledge upon completion of the program. Despite the fact that the college mainly offers this central teacher training course, students are offered a broad curriculum based educational package that blends theory with practice.

The selection criterion in Shree Raghavendra College of Education focuses on the marks obtained for the qualifying examination and/or entrance test. The admission policy for the college is as follows the college follows the admission policy set by the State Government of Tamil Nadu and the university affiliated to it. Any candidates who may wish to attend the university should also understand that the institution complies with the policy and may consider other factors as stipulated by the policies in exercising the selection process. Currently there is no information on scholarship and grants for international students but interested candidates have been advised to contact the college of their interest for any available scholarships.
