Diploma in Civil Engineering is a three-year full-time course offered by the Directorate of Technical Education, Bangalore, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must be an Indian citizen; And
Eligibility for Admission to Engineering Courses: Must have passed Karnataka SSLC or equivalent examination with minimum 35% marks in aggregate.
Eligibility for admission to the following non-engineering courses. a)Commercial Practice, Apparel Design, and Fabrication Technology, Diploma in Modern Office Management – Must have passed SSLC or equivalent examination in Karnataka with minimum 35% marks in aggregate. b) Library Science & Information Management – Passed Karnataka Secondary PUC or equivalent examination with a minimum of 35% marks in aggregate is mandatory.
Candidate must have studied for 05 years in Karnataka from first class through qualifying (SSLC/PUC) examination.
Candidates who have passed CBSE/ICSE or SSLC/equivalent in non-Karnataka state must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the Board of Technical Examinations, Palace Road, Bangalore-560001, and present it compulsorily at the time of record verification.
Lateral Entry Quota (20% of intake)
Students who have passed the ITI are eligible for admission to the 3rd Semester / 2nd Year Diploma through Lateral Entry. Contact the Principals of concerned Polytechnics for more information. Candidates applying in this quota must have secured 35% marks in aggregate in the government-approved JTS (Junior Technical Schools) SSLC. Candidates are eligible for admission only to the reserved seats in the JTS quota. J. Candidates who have passed the trade related to TS (03 Years) and ITI (Two Years) will be considered for the Diploma Course on the basis of their respective Trade Eligibility.
Admission Details
Admission to first-year Government/Aided/Private (surrendered seats) Polytechnics will be done in collaboration with Karnataka Examination Authority(KEA) and NIC. The admission process usually starts with a notification in the state newspapers.
