Shri B.M. Patil Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Vijayapura, Karnataka, established in the year 1986, is one of the leading private medical college. This constituent college affiliated to the NMC provides numerous degree medical courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Located on 45 acres of land, the college has equipped modern amenities and a committed staff of 218 teachers. A cross section of twenty five courses in five degree programmes are offered in the institution and it is enriched with 328 post graduate students with reasonable ratio of male to female students at 48% and 52% respectively.
Shri B.M. Patil Medical College Hospital & Research Centre has all modern amenities that can foster the academic success of the learners and help them become responsible adults. The library of 2400 sq meters has stocked 19486 books and 152 annual subscribes journals for 691 students at a time. It is one of the HELINET Consortium, which affords it a wide range of digital materials. The campus has different hostels for boys and girls so that the students can live comfortably. The establishment has a health centre that also contains first aid facilities in case of emergencies. The college has also good quality of IT facilities, games and sports, canteen facility, and an open-air auditorium for conducting programmes and seminars. Shri B.M. Patil Medical College has provided medical education courses for the students. The major programme under the university is the MBBS course in which intakes 200 students every year.
