Shri B.M. Patil Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Vijayapura, Karnataka established in the year 1986 is one of south India’s leading private medical college. This constituent college affiliated to the NMC provides numerous degree medical courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Located on 45 acres of land, the college has equipped modern amenities and a committed staff of 218 teachers. A cross section of twenty five courses in five degree programmes are offered in the institution and it is enriched with 328 post graduate students with reasonable ratio of male to female students at 48% and 52% respectively.

The Library of 2400 sq meters has stocked 19486 books and 152 annual subscribes journals for 691 students at a time. Our establishment has a cozy health center that also contains first aid facilities in case of emergencies. The college has also good quality of IT facilities, games and sports, canteen facility, and an open-air auditorium for conducting programmes and seminars. Department specific teaching laboratories offer practical training in health care to learners of all the health facets.

Shri B.M. Patil Medical College has provided medical education courses for the students. The major programme under the university is the MBBS programme in which intakes 200 students every year. Also, it offers 23 post graduate courses such as MD and MS in various specialisations, super speciality courses M.Ch in Urology, DM in Cardiology etc. All the courses are onsite and take between 3 and 6 years to complete depending on the level of study. The various courses undertaken at the college are a form of evidence that the college is indeed in a commitments of offering medical courses.

Shri B.M. Patil Medical College currently as an admission policy that offers prospective students direct entrance based on national examinations. For the MBBS programme admission is provided through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test under the name NEET UG. A handwritten note on NEET says, Postgraduate for MD and MS, and Super speciality for M.ch and DM. The college provides admission to course to students from all over India a fact borne out by the fact that 68% of postgraduate students come from other states. It also grants scholarships for its learners, although it revealed that only 47 percent of postgraduate learners received some cash reimbursement.
