Shri Shivaji College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Amravati: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Shri Shivaji College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Amravati, established in 2004, was the first college to be involved in imparting agricultural biotechnology education. This affiliated college is located at Shivaji Nagar, near Panchwati, Amravati, Maharashtra, and spreads over an area of 48 acres. The current student strength of the institution is 307, while the faculty strength is 12. 

The main thing that differentiates this institute from others is its focus on agricultural biotechnology, so it will also be an excellent opportunity for those students who want to mix the old concepts of agriculture with modern biotechnological advancement. The institution prides itself on its well-rounded learning environment with all modern facilities. The students have the advantage of well-equipped laboratories in the areas of biotechnology, such as plant biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, food biotechnology, and animal biotechnology. On-campus facilities include a well-maintained library, computer laboratories with internet facility, and an exclusively functioning bioinformatics center. Sports facilities, gym, comfortable accommodation for boys and girls separately in two different hostels, and other facilities are provided to facilitate the holistic development of the students. This campus has an auditorium for events and seminars, a cafeteria, and a health center with first-aid facilities. 

Shri Shivaji College of Agricultural Biotechnology offers a four-year full-time B.Tech programme in Biotechnology with approved intake of 100 students. The said programme shall acquaint the students with a strong foundation of the principles of Biotechnology and their applications in the field of Agriculture. 

The admission procedure for the B.Tech in Biotechnology course in Shri Shivaji College of Agricultural Biotechnology is done by MCAER, Pune Maharashtra Council of Agriculture Education and Research. It will be compulsory for the prospective students to appear in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET), which is mainly conducted to select candidates for admission. It is carried out on the basis of the schedule announced by MCAER.
