Pharmaceutical education is a relatively young field at Shridevi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tumakuru, which was founded in 2019. This is affiliated college is situated at Tumakuru, Karnataka and based on the quick response this college has established their position in the field of Pharmacy. It is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) which wants to give the best education to its students as per the standard of the industry. Located in a 25 acre campus the institute is at present serving 42 students and 16 members of teaching staff. Shridevi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences has recognized two specific degrees in the course of pharmacy for the students, who want to make their career in pharmaceutical field.
Shridevi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences equipped with a number of various production requirements and mod features for which has needs for the enhancement of student learning analysis. The facility of college is well facilitated with well established library with large number of books, journals and electronics resources helpful in providing the latest information about the new publications in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Down to modern and equipped laboratories are vital facilities for any aspiring pharmacy education. College has laid down the Information Technology structure for the students comprising of eight computer laboratories each having the capacity to address up to one hundred students with internet connection for research and other academic concerns. As for the extra curriculur activities the institute handles its sports facilities with helping clubs and resorts wherein the facilities of swimming, badminton and multi gym are available. The facilities available on this campus include the following: baseball, table tennis, volleyball, and hockey. The 200-seat.capacity state-of-art audio-visual facility auditorium is used for a variety of academics and cultural programmes.
At present, Shridevi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences provides five courses that are completely full time courses in the field of pharmacy education. B.Pharma is a four-year course offering one hundred and seventy-five seats whilst D.Pharma is a two-year course offering sixty seats and M.Pharma courses. These programmes are intended to equip the students with all the over-viewing information and applicable skills necessary for practice in the pharmaceutical sciences for professional careers. The total student intake of the two courses is 160, as the institute strives to maintain manageable figure and quality of education.
The admission policy of the Shridevi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences is simple and carries admissions based on merit. The institute also has hostels for male and female students and therefore student who are coming from different parts of the country get appropriate accommodation.
