Shukdeo Mahto Janta Mahavidyalaya, Khajedih, Madhubani, Bihar was established in 1981 as an affiliated college. The Institute is NAAC accredited and covers a campus of 11 acres with 4563 students and a faculty strength of 53. Under 6 degrees, the institution offers education in multiple streams which spread through the three disciplines of arts, commerce, and sciences.

The Institution has been focused on providing an ideal learning environment to its students with all facilities to support any aspect of students' academic and personal growth. Libraries are one of the anchor academic resources. The college has about 11,000 books and 50 journals and periodicals on various subjects. Fitness-conscious students can avail of the gym facility in the college. Well-equipped computer laboratories manned by experts help the students to keep themselves updated with technology. Shukdeo Mahto Janta Mahavidyalaya offers 28 undergraduate courses in arts, science, and commerce. It offers full-time courses above said disciplines. These include a B.Sc.  with 576 sanctioned seats, as well as special honours courses in subjects such as Hindi, English, Economics, Political Science, and Science disciplines. The college offers courses in B.Com with specializations in Marketing and Accounts. The mode of entry to Shukdeo Mahto Janta Mahavidyalaya is inclusive based on merit.
