Shyam Mahavidyalaya, Sonebhadra: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Shyam Mahavidyalaya was founded in 1999. This is an affiliated college at Chopan Sinduriya, Sonebhadra, Uttar Pradesh. The institution has a 7-acre campus with the purpose of delivering quality education in its various streams. This college is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education and conducts undergraduate and diploma courses in various streams. Having 486 students in total enrolment and a faculty strength of 13, Shyam Mahavidyalaya provides a focused learning environment. The college at present offers three courses: B.Ed, D.El.Ed, and BA. Students choose towards this institution for education and arts oriented programmes. 

The institution has numerous facilities that help improve the learning experience of its students. The institution is serviced with a well-stocked library, acting as an information core and gathering all types of academic resources for the students. It has departmental laboratories, which help in practical learning to the students through hands-on experience. Shyam Mahavidyalaya has awareness of modern education's role and important role for technology, and set up exemplary IT infrastructure. Sports facilities and a gym are also available in the college for the physical well-being and sports activities of students. The campus is also equipped with separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, assuring them a comfortable stay for the students coming from out-station. There is a cafeteria within the campus aiding to the needs of the students and staff. A health centre with first-aid facilities takes care of immediate medical requirements. The college also provides guest rooms for visiting faculty and family members of students. 

Shyam Mahavidyalaya offers three full-time courses aiding to different academic interests and career aspirations. Among the courses that are delivered through the said college are the Bachelor of Education, Diploma in Elementary Education, and Bachelor of Arts. The B.Ed course has an approved intake of 100 students for the two-year duration, while the D.El.Ed course is a two-year programme with an approved intake of 50 students. 

Shyam Mahavidyalaya conducts the admission process in a free and fair manner, purely on the basis of merits secured by the students. Admission to B.Ed and D.El.Ed is based on the qualifying examination marks or entrance examination. A candidate can also be admitted through any other selection process approved by the policy of the State Government/UT Administration and that of the University. This policy gives the deserving candidates an opportunity to pursue a field of their choice.
