SI-MET College of Nursing, Palluruthy, was started in 2009 as an Affiliated College in Kochi, Kerala. The idea is a four year, full-time B.Sc Nursing program which commenced from the session of 2009-10 admitting 60 students in a year and a two year, full-time Post B.Sc Nursing, which began from session 2009-10, admitting 30 students in a year. These programs are designed to give exhaustive theoretical and practical courses deeming necessary for a satisfying nursing carrier. The total enrollment of the college is 277 students which is same as the intake capacity of the college and is a witness to the fact that the college is in high demand offering all the available seats.

Simply, the admission process at SI-MET College of Nursing, Palluruthy is said to focus more in merit base, thus when a deserving candidate would wish to be a nurse, they would still be able to enroll for their desired nursing course.
